Today, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we want to highlight our collaboration with Casa de la Mujer, an organization that works so incredibly hard to improve the quality of life for women in Bolivia. In a March 2013 report, the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, presented comparative cross-country data on the state of violence against women in 12 nations across Latin America and the Caribbean. Today is a special day because TTC launches its first SMS campaign focused on reducing electronic waste together with Closing the Loop in Kampala, Uganda. The goal of the campaign is to inform people of both the dangers and possibilities of e-waste. More than 10 million people in Uganda, close to 40% of the population, own a mobile phone.
